The Oakdale Area Chamber of Commerce is incorporated under the laws of the State of Louisiana and its principal office and legal domicile is in the city of Oakdale, Allen Parish, Louisiana.
The Oakdale Area Chamber of Commerce is a private, non-profit business advocacy organization supported by business, professional and industrial member firms, as well as individuals.
The object of the Oakdale Area Chamber of Commerce (Elizabeth/Oakdale/Oberlin) is to advance the commercial, industrial, civic, and general interest and welfare of the Cities of Allen Parish. The Oakdale Area Chamber of Commerce and its activities are nonpartisan and nonsectarian.
A 15-member Board of Directors, representing a broad cross-section of the membership, governs the Oakdale Area Chamber of Commerce. The members of the Board of Directors are elected by the membership to serve staggered terms, with 5 members serving 3-year terms, 5 members serving 2-year terms, and 5 members serving a 1-year term. The Board sets policy, establishes budgets, oversees the work of the Chamber Office and the Chamber Manager/Secretary to the Board, and oversees Chamber projects, committees, and task forces.
A volunteer President, First Vice-President, Second Vice-President and Treasurer are elected by the Board of Directors to serve one-year terms.
The Chamber Manager and Secretary to the Board is appointed by the Board of Directors and this is a salaried position.
